Alex Sampson Sings His Truth
On the road with the Canadian musician as he tours North America in Silvers.
Between writing, traveling, and performing night after night, life on tour leaves little room to slow down. But even at its busiest, Alex says the focus stays simple: staying connected to the people around him and keeping perspective along the way.
“My life is as busy as it’s ever been,” he shares. “I’m living the dream 100% and it can definitely be chaotic. The thing that helps me stay grounded the most are the people I have around me and my faith.”
As he moves from city to city, that sense of consistency carries into what he wears on stage, too. Throughout his tour this spring, Alex and his band are performing exclusively in Silver Jeans, relying on denim that keeps up with long travel days, rehearsals, live shows and everything in between.
Writing what's real
Alex’s music pulls directly from his everyday life. The songs aren’t built around personas or characters; they come from whatever he’s living through at the time.
“My music is personal,” he says. “Being honest about who I am and what I’m going through is super important to me because it brings out the best songs.”
That honesty shows up across his upcoming work, much of which draws inspiration from his relationship. “I have a whole new EP coming out and like 90% of it is about my girlfriend,” he laughs.
Since starting his career, one realization has stood out more than anything else: how much work it takes to keep momentum going, and how willing he’s been to put it in. “I’m surprised at how hard of a worker I am.”
Denim On Repeat
Tour life requires simplified decisions, especially when it comes to getting dressed. Throughout this season, Alex and his band have been performing in Silver Jeans, leaning into denim as an easy constant between travel days, rehearsals, and live shows.
For Alex, jeans have always felt natural. “I’ve worn jeans all my life,” he says. “I think they’re the clothing item that represents me the most.” And when schedules get hectic, simplicity wins. “On days I don’t wanna overthink it, I just wear jeans. They’re stylish and super simple so they’re always a good pick no matter where I’m going.”
Finding His Truth
Every artist approaches success differently. For Alex, it comes back to honesty—in his music, his work ethic, and the way he shows up both on and off stage.
As his tour continues, that mindset stays consistent: focus on the work, stay grounded, and keep creating from a place that feels real. The same thinking carries into what he wears night after night, pieces that feel familiar, reliable, and unmistakably his own.
