For petite women, finding jeans that fit right isn’t always as simple as finding the right inseam. While shortening a hem can fix the most obvious problem, it can’t move a knee, reposition a hip or change where a rise sits. On a shorter frame, even small shifts in proportion matter, from where the knee hits on a bootcut or flare to how a rise sits and where a wide leg carries its volume. That’s why a true petite fit needs to be adjusted from top to bottom, not just shortened.

In denim, half an inch is rarely just half an inch. Small adjustments can change where a jean sits and how the entire leg takes shape. For Silver Petites, front and back rises were reduced, hip placement moved up, and inseams were shortened. Knee placement was recalibrated individually for each fit, rather than applying one standard adjustment across the collection. Every adjustment ensures each fit sits and falls exactly where it should on a petite frame.
Each leg shape also comes with its own considerations, from where a bootcut begins to open, and a flare starts to take shape to where the volume falls on a wide leg. That’s why we adjusted each fit individually, based on its specific shape and construction.
The same level of specificity applies through the waist and hip. Adjusting for a shorter frame also means preserving how the upper body is designed to fit. For example, Suki and Avery use contoured waistbands with more ease through the hip and thigh, while Elyse uses an eased waistband for a straighter waist-to-hip ratio. Each fit required specific modifications to maintain the intended design in Petite.
It’s not just the fit that needs to shift. Details like pocket placement and distressing are designed to sit at specific points on the body. A rip meant to sit at the knee can land too low on a shorter frame, while pockets placed too far down throw off the entire look of the jean. We made sure those details were considered and repositioned to work with the fit, not against it.
